ST CHRISTOPHER’S HALLS GUIDELINES RE USAGE
AS A PUBLIC ACCESS REQUIREMENT THE WHOLE CHURCH AND HALLS COMPLEX IS A NON-SMOKING AREA THIS APPLIES TO SMOKE MACHINES AND SIMILAR EFFECTS.
Applications and KEYS for CASUAL use of Halls should be made to: - Mrs B. Colvin Tel no. 01242 238631 18 Lichfield Drive email Mrs B Colvin
and must be made by persons over 21 years of age.
The Halls are not let for Discos unless they finish by 9 p.m.
The premises and surrounds, including the car park, are in the care and custody of the USER who will be responsible for all claims for theft, breakage and damage done during the period of use.
Cars must NOT be driven/parked on the disabled ramp by the main entrance, the grass area, nor on the paving in front of the MAIN Church door.
To comply with FIRE REGULATIONS. All fire exits must be left clear. A ‘NO SMOKING’ policy is in operation for the WHOLE complex, this also complies with the new law about NO SMOKING in Public Areas.
The MAXIMUM number of people allowed is 100 for the Large Hall 50 for the Small Hall
PLEASE ENSURE THAT: - The extractor fans in the kitchen are used in conjunction with the URNS and COOKERS. The water heater control above the ‘lawn’ sink is switched off before leaving. The cookers, equipment and work surfaces are clean and all the floors are left in a tidy state, as you would wish to find them. The Large White Dust mops should be used for sweeping the floors. They are quick and very effective. They are kept in the second room off the passage to the cloakrooms. Designated No. 2
BLUE CHAIRS ONLY to be left in room No. 2 The Grey chairs must all be left in the Large Hall after any activity, stacked no more than three high for Health & Safety and ease of access, and preferably on the long wall adjacent to the entrance doors. Any blutak or sellotape used on the walls must be removed. Preferably don’t use any at all.
Any effects brought in, ensuing rubbish and any food stored in the refrigerator is removed after each function.
Please have due consideration to our neighbours. When music or microphones are in use please keep NOISE LEVEL to a MINIMUM and preferably open windows on the lawn side only. Please check all windows (N.B. high windows in large hall) and doors are securely fastened & locked and ALL lights are switched OFF before leaving.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE OUTSIDE DOOR BE LOCKED DURING USE ONCE ALL ARE IN. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES OF DISTURBANCE DURING MEETINGS ETC. The key should be hung on a small hook to the top left hand of the doorframe. This will comply with SAFETY regulations.
